Lavender Hotels Group, which owns the Bolholt Country Park Hotel in Walshaw, are once again delighted to host and support the Joe Geeling fun run which will take place on Sunday 6th June 2010.
The fun run as last year has been sponsored by Northwest Design Studios with all proceeds benefiting the Joe Geeling Trust.
Building on the success of last year’s event which thanks to the generosity of runners, sponsors and local businesses raised over £7000 for the trust, this year’s aim is bigger and better!
Simon Doughty, Operations Director at Lavender Hotels said: "We really were overwhelmed with the support shown by all involved last year with over 500 runners taking part on the day and hundreds more turning out in support”
“Our intention this year is to make the event not just a fun run but also a fun day out for all the family and the commitment from Northwest Design Studios to sponsor the event will help ensure this happens”.
Once again there will be prizes for the first male and female runners and for the first male and female juniors, all competitors will receive a finishing medal. A prize will also be awarded for the best fancy dress.
The Joe Geeling Trust, which supports both Manchester Children’s Hospital and The Cystic Fibrosis Trust, has now raised more than £200,000 thanks to a series of charity events, including four sponsored dog walks organised by Bury canine expert, Gordon Salmon, and a Shining Star Ball at Manchester's Midland Hotel.
As well as the website entry forms are available from:
The Stables Fitness and Leisure Club, Walshaw Road, Bury, BL8 1PU. Entries will also be accepted on the day of the run.
